about

Speaker-rattling bass-weight and meticulous drum-programming make Stillhead’s production a hugely rewarding listening experience. The Spiders EP brings us 4 brand new tracks utterly saturated with atmosphere and emotion, while dripping with suspense.

After 6 years, 4 albums, over 20 EPs and countless remixes and appearances under his DFRNT alias, Alex Cowles decided to switch things up and start fresh as Stillhead.

Taking a far more meticulous approach to his Nordic-inspired, deep dub-influenced electronica he swiftly released the “Dwelling EP” on sea-blue transparent vinyl on his own imprint Brightest Dark Place, following that with the expansive full-length album “Iceberg” on vinyl with Here & Now Recordings.

Now Alex returns with a brand new 4-track EP, back at home on his own Brightest Dark Place.

about

Brightest Dark Place Copenhagen, Denmark

The hazy, blurred overlap between techno and ambient, the dubby fringes of deep house and melancholy bass music or the closing gap which separates drum and bass from dub-techno, it’s all within our Brightest Dark Place.
